I feel like nostalgia ha much in common with the tendency of people to believe in narratives of right wing populism. They think the world was better yesterday than today and only conservative values can bring them a better future. The VUKA World is too complicated, so the right wing parties use populist outdated opinions and propaganda to influence people. I even see it in my class at the university, that students like to design kind of retro style websites, but cannot explain why they like this style.
